Alain Perchoc develops a resolutely figurative artistic practice focused on the representation of the world around him. A self-taught artist, he began his creative journey between 2019 and 2022, a period marked by the Covid lockdown which served as a catalyst for his work. Perchoc lives and works in Alès, where he dedicates his time to painting and drawing. His work features varied subjects, ranging from landscapes to human figures in motion, as well as historical sites. Through an acrylic technique, the artist seeks above all to translate luminosity and capture the chromatic singularities that compose our reality. Born in 1952, he approaches his production with the desire to transcribe the vitality of the people and places he observes. Each canvas reflects his commitment to the figurative style and his wish to express, through the artistic gesture, the dynamics of daily life.

Artistic approach
I paint life, people, and landscapes. My approach is guided by the world around me, its colors, its singularities, and those moments when people are in action. As a self-taught artist, I use acrylics to explore the figurative. I draw my inspiration from historical places and the light that I seek to instill in my canvases. The lockdown was a defining moment for me, allowing me to fully dedicate my time to my passion. Through my work, I primarily wish to convey a sense of movement and to bear witness to the love I have for painting. I hope the viewer can perceive the life and emotion that I attempt to capture on the canvas at every moment.
